Privacy Policy — Tara

App: Tara (Panchangam Calendar) · Developer: Sai Labs · Last updated: 8 August 2026

In short: Tara works entirely on your device. It has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics, and it requests no internet permission. It collects no personal or birth information. Nothing you enter is collected by us or sent anywhere. Your information stays on your phone.

1. Who we are

Tara is developed and published by Sai Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the Tara Android app handles your information. If you have any questions, contact us at tapasasaitrading@gmail.com.

2. Information the app uses

Tara is a general almanac — one calendar for everyone. It does not ask for or store your name, date of birth, time of birth, or any other personal or birth details.

The only things you can save, on your device only, are:

your location, chosen from a list of places (used to compute accurate sunrise and planet positions);
any tasks, activities or reminders you add to a day.

This information is stored locally in the app's private storage and is used solely to calculate and display the panchangam and your reminders on your device.

3. What we collect: nothing

We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any of your information. Tara has no backend servers and no user accounts. Your data is never uploaded, and we have no access to it. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking software, and no third-party data-sharing SDKs.

4. Location

Tara does not access your device's GPS or location services and holds no location permission. "Location" in the app means the place you type or pick from a list; it is used only for astronomical calculations performed on your device.

5. Permissions

Notifications (optional): if you enable them, Tara shows reminders and daily alerts. These are generated on your device; nothing is sent to us. You can turn them off any time in the app or in your phone's settings.
Tara requests no internet permission and cannot connect to the network.

6. Third-party content

The app includes an offline list of place names derived from the GeoNames geographical database, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. This data ships inside the app and involves no connection to, or data sharing with, any third party.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because everything is stored only on your device, you are always in control. You can change your saved location or delete your tasks within the app, or remove everything at once by clearing the app's data or uninstalling Tara. Uninstalling deletes all information the app has stored.

8. Children's privacy

Tara is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

9. Security

Your information remains within the app's private, sandboxed storage on your own device, protected by the security of your device and its operating system.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the revised version at this address.
